Dear Psychology Students and Supervisors,
Welcome to the Clinical and Clinical Neuropsychology Placements portal on SONIA. We will be using the SONIA placement management software to co-ordinate the internal and external clinical placement process for students and staff involved in placements.
You will find information here for both the Internal placement at the University of Melbourne Psychology Clinic (UMPC) and External placements. It is hoped this will make placement management much easier for all involved.
If you click on the PLACEMENTS tab it should give you an overview of all placements and when you click on “details” it will provide important information about each placement.
The FORMS tab will be very important, as here you will find all relevant documentation associated with the placement, including the placement contract and log books all of which can be completed via SONIA.
The CHECKS tab is about compliance. If any of the mandatory checks (e.g. police check, Working with Children Check or immunisations) are in red, it means the student needs to ensure they amend this so they comply to the requirements of the University and the External Placement Provider.
The HISTORY tab will tell the student the placement subjects they have successfully completed.
Over time it is likely we will use SONIA for more things, and if so this front page will be amended to let you know as well as an email sent to you.
Your coordinator for the Internal placement at UMPC is Dr Litza Kiropoulos and she can be contacted at email@example.com with any questions.
Your coordinator for all external placements is Dr David Spektor and he can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org with any questions.
Your coordinator for all Clinical Neuropsychology placements is Dr Angie Jackman and she can be contacted at email@example.com with any questions.

Finally, you will see something called the Placement Bulletin. This holds information for first year students regarding the types of external placements available, the external placement process and how to write a CV and Cover Letter.
